Law Firm Files 125 Rebanding Waiver Requests

The Law Firm of Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker filed 125 waiver requests on behalf of 800 MHz licensees to enable the licensees to complete their rebanding effort after the June 26 deadline, pursuant to negotiations with Sprint Nextel.

Two sets of waiver requests were filed:  interim waivers for licensees still negotiating frequency reconfiguration agreements (FRA's) with Sprint Nextel and final waivers for licensees with executed FRA's that require additional time to complete the physical reconfiguration work.  The breakdown of waiver requests is:  Wave 1:  28, Wave 2:  33, Wave 3:  58 and Wave 4:  6.

About 50 of the firm's clients didn't file waiver requests because they have completed their rebanding efforts or because they expect to have their projects completed by June 26.  In addition, waiver requests were not filed for Wave 4 border licensees, pursuant to direction from the FCC.

Shulman Rogers represents more than 200 licensees across the country in their rebanding efforts.
