Rebekah L. Bina joins Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker as an associate with the telecommunications group. Her practice focuses on 800 MHz rebanding and other telecommunications matters.
Ms. Bina is a member of the Legal Working Group, chaired by Gordon N. Lederman of the National Counterterrorism Center, in support of the Project on National Security Reform (PNSR, www.pnsr.org). She is currently researching the authorities of government departments to distribute foreign aid and foreign assistance.
Ms. Bina graduated cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law in 2004 with a certificate in National Security Law. She also holds a Master's Degree in Media Management from Syracuse University, S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising/Public Relations from The Pennsylvania State University, College of Communications. During law school, Ms. Bina was a legal clerk with the National Association of Broadcasters, where she worked on a variety of FCC pleadings and policy issues including media ownership, broadcast interference, labor compensation, must-carry and retransmission consent, and advised association members regarding on-air promotion of contests, gambling, lotteries, alcohol and tobacco products. She also served as Lead Articles Editor of the Syracuse Law Review, and was a member of the Institute for National Security and Counterterrorism. She is a member of the ABA Communications Committee, Illinois Bar Association and the Federal Communications Bar Association.
